POPSUGAR Must Have September 2013 Review

I finally got my POPSUGAR Must Have September box, and I admit I was a little frustrated that it arrived so late (it’s the second to last day of September!). I know they had some issues with the Fall Edition Box mailing out this month as well, so hopefully my October box will get here faster.

POPSUGAR Must Have is a subscription service that sends the latest “must have” items for women that are curated by the POPSUGAR editors. Items typically include food, beauty, home, among other miscellaneous things. It’s $35/month, and $31.66/month if you buy a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription. Personally, I find it to be a great deal. Every box has been a great value and the variety within each box is impressive; it always seems very well balanced to me. Use the code REFER5 to get $5 off your first month. If you sign up now, you’ll receive the November box because they’re already sold out of October’s!

The bright pink always cheers me up after a long day. I think this box is the one I look forward to the most each month!popsugar must have september 2013 box review

First look! I knew it was going to be a good box because I love Barr-Co. and I’m always down to add a good DIY book to my shelf.popsugar3

P.S. You’re Invited Hardcover Book | $17.59
Some of the projects look interesting, but overall I think her first book is much better. Still, it’ll be a fun book to flip through on a rainy day.

Kitsch Headbands | $11.99popsugar4

Rifle Paper Co. Botanical Coaster Set | $16.00
I actually already have these coasters! They’re super cute and surprisingly durable for paper coasters. I love that their packaging is perfect for gifting.

That’s It Fruit Bar | $1.75
I got the Apple and Apricot flavor, and I love it. It’s great to look at the ingredients list and see only two things: apples and apricots! I also appreciate that they are vegan, kosher, gluten-free, and diabetic-friendly. While I am none of those things, I have friends and coworkers who are and these would be a perfect snack to carry around or bring into the office for sharing.

Sharkies Organic Energy Chews | $2.00
Not bad, but they had a really sticky texture.

The big ticket item!

Barr-Co. Reed Diffuser in Original Scent | $46.00
As I already said, I love Barr-Co. and pick up their soaps and candles at Anthropologie whenever I drop by. The packaging is also stunning! But since I already have so many of their products, I can’t decide if I should gift this diffuser or keep it for myself.

Shoptiques Gift Card | $25.00

The problem with these gift cards is that you usually have to spend more money to use them, and in this case you might be spending quite a bit. While there are some items that are around $25 and under (mostly jewelry), the majority of stuff is on the pricey side. Most clothing items are well above $100. But they do have a lot of cute clothes and if I find something that I love I might go for it.

The total combined value of this box is $125.33, which I’m really happy with. Even if I don’t end up using the Shoptiques gift card, it’s still worth triple of what I paid for the box. I mean, just the diffuser itself is worth more than the box cost! Is anyone else already dying to get their hands on the October box?

As always, all views in this review are the opinion of the author. Nothing was received in exchange for a review, and I am not affiliated with POPSUGAR.
