GlossyBox January 2014 Review

So I FINALLY got my January GlossyBox on Friday, February 14th. Pretty crazy! I’ve never had such an extreme delay with a box before, but I do understand that the weather has been crazy on the East Coast and in the South. Plus it was a nice little Valentine’s Day surprise!

GlossyBox is $21/month, and each box contains five luxury beauty products. They usually have a good amount of full-sized products as well as the usual deluxe-sized samples. My favorite thing about GlossyBox might be their packaging! It’s always super adorable and perfect for gifting. I reuse their boxes all the time to package other stuff!

See what I mean? Too cute!

GlossyBox January 2014 ReviewVichy Laboratoires Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream | $9.00
This was one of the sneak peeks they sent out, so I knew to expect this product. I was excited to try the face cream but I’m surprised by how strong the scent is. Maybe I’m just used to completely unscented creams, but I’m a bit reluctant to even try it because I’ve had allergic reactions to heavily scented face creams.

GlossyBox January 2014 ReviewBeautyblender Pure and Solid Beautycleanser | $20.00
I got this GlossyBox just for the beautyblender! I love these things and use them regularly. I was surprised to see a sample of the solid cleanser, since the spoiler advertised the liquid version. (I love the liquid beautycleanser; I use it for all my brushes!) But I’m actually happier to receive the solid, since it’s something new to try. And as it turns out, it works very well. I’ll be purchasing a full sized solid for on-the-go cleaning.

GlossyBox January 2014 ReviewTony & Guy Sea Salt Texturizing Spray | $5.00
If I get another sea salt spray, I’m going to scream! Seriously, I have waaay too much texturizing hair spray and I almost never use it. My hair just doesn’t take well to these sea salt textures and it’s generally way too humid in Houston to pull off the beachy look!

GlossyBox January 2014 ReviewBella Pierre Mineral Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Desert Rose | $20.00
Yay, a full sized product! And one that I absolutely love! It’s more of a peachy pink, not a true ‘rose’ color, and like most mineral cosmetics it’s totally buildable. I’ve been using it every day since I got it, and it’s a keeper!

GlossyBox January 2014 ReviewBCBG Max Azria Bon Genre Eau de Parfum Purse Spray | $18.00
I’m a huge fan of getting perfume samples in my boxes as long as they aren’t the tiny kind, so I was happy to see this! I love that it’s a spray instead of a rollerball, and it’s a very generous size. I’m not too crazy about the scent, but I don’t dislike it either. I think I’ll keep it in my purse and see if the fragrance grows on me a bit more.

GlossyBox January 2014 ReviewSo despite the fact that this box is super late, I’m pleased with what I received. For $21.00, I got $72.00 worth of products. Even though I won’t be using the hair spray or the face cream, I still got a great deal! Just that blush alone would have made this box worth it for me, and I already knew I was getting my moneys worth with the beautyblender! I’m very impressed with GlossyBox and I’m so glad I decided to give them another chance after canceling over a year ago. Can’t wait to get my February box! Hopefully it will actually get here in the month of February…
