After a shaky two months of slow shipping and delays, POPSUGAR finally has its shipping back on track. My May box got here a couple days ago, way ahead of schedule. Too bad the contents aren’t as amazing as the March and April boxes, in my opinion. But overall it’s still a solid POPSUGAR Must Have box for this month.
POPSUGAR Must Have is a subscription service that sends a variety of items for women that are curated by the POPSUGAR editors. Items typically include food, beauty, home, among other miscellaneous things. Each month is $39.99/month, but you can use the code MAY10 to get $10 off your first box! It’s hands down my favorite subscription thus far. (And for $30 it’s an awesome deal.)
Hi I’m Skinny Multi-Grain Sticks in Sweet Onion | $2.99
Yum! First of all, it’s a huge bag, so I’m really glad I actually love these. They taste a bit like Funyuns, but are (obviously) a healthier alternative. And the company is having a promotion for free shipping during the month of May, so it’s a great time to stock up or try their other flavors. Use promo code MFS0514 at checkout! I’m dying to try the Veggie Tortilla and BBQ flavors.
Citrus Zinger Water Bottle | $16.99
People have been asking for an infuser bottle for a long time now, so it’s great to see one in the box! It’s always good to know when a company takes customer feedback into consideration. I personally love fruit infused water, so this was fantastic. Even though it’s designed for citrus, you can also use other fruit like strawberries or herbs like mint. I tried a basil and strawberry mixture last night and it was delicious. I highly recommend it!
Kerry Cassill Eye Mask | $24.00
This is definitely my least favorite item from the whole box, even though I think it’s kind of cute. For one, I just don’t do sleep masks. I think I move around in my sleep way too much to use one, and I generally can’t even fall asleep with one on my face. But I’ve tried enough sleep masks to know that this one is pretty flimsy. Especially for that $24 price tag! The elastic is really thin on the back, and the sewing is shoddy in a few places. It feels like something you could pick up at Target for a couple of bucks.
Tone It Up! One Day Fat Blast DVD | $14.99
Not something I would pick up for myself, but I actually like it. Karena and Katrina are great at providing instructions, it’s easy to do at home, and the workout really makes you sweat! Not as intense as some of the Jillian Michaels stuff (here’s looking at you, 30 Day Shred), but my thighs are definitely feeling a bit sore today (hint: there’s a lot of squats in this one). I think POPSUGAR picked a good month to send this fitness DVD since the promise of swimsuit season has me a bit more motivated than the rest of the year!
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquer in Pool Boy | $10.00
My first time using OCC nail polish. In fact, I didn’t even know they made nail polish until I got this bottle. I only know them for their Lip Tar products (which are totally phenomenal, if you haven’t tried it yet), so this was a fun discovery. I like the formula of this polish a lot: it dried quickly and was easy to apply. I might grab some more colors during my next Sephora haul!
Smell Bent St. Tropez Dispenser | $45.00
I don’t really like it when the big ticket item is perfume, since scents are so personal. And even though I love jasmine, this perfume is not for me. It smells a lot of suntan lotion to me, which isn’t very appealing. It’s a shame since the bottle is pretty big (1.7 oz) and it’s the most expensive item in the box. Oh well, I’m sure I can pass it along to a friend who likes the smell.
Not my favorite box, but still a solid one. I think the curation was really thoughtful with the fitness items and summer theme, and I thought the range of items was pretty good. The total value for the box is $113.97, though I have no idea who would ever pay $24 for that sleep mask. I’m going to use almost all the items, and the perfume will make a great gift for a friend. Can’t wait to get the June shipment, and I hope they will keep the promo codes rolling! It’s been nice to see a $10 off one each month. I wonder why they simply don’t lower the price? I feel like they would attract more customers that way. Either way, it seems very easy to get the box for only $29.99/month now, and it’s an awesome deal every time!
