It’s been forever since I’ve gotten a Julep Maven box, and my polish no-buy has been killing me. So when I checked out the July reveal, I knew I would just have to get the entire collection. It’s so darn pretty!
I’m also very impressed with Julep shipping. I think I received this box on July 1st, definitely the earliest box to arrive!
I love Julep’s jelly formulas! Really wish they made more colors. They’re perfect for Summer and I’ve found them to be chip resistant and easy to apply. Juliana is also very pretty. It’s definitely quite sheer, but looks fantastic layered over a light color. In the sunlight, you can really see the iridescence. Personally, I think Juliana is one of the more unique colors from Julep, plus it’s quite versatile. It adds a bright wash of pink over any other color.
While I’m partial to Zoya’s Pixie Dust formulas, I gotta say Julep’s stardust is a great alternative. Very forgiving when you apply it and lasts for a long time. Lainey is a shimmery bright fuchsia that reminds me a lot of Katie (from August 2014). If you didn’t get a chance for that one, this is a really good dupe!
Corrine is very similar to Julep’s Tomoko Pixie Dust color (which I completely love, but also have a whole bottle of), so I might gift or swap this one. I also have a lot of similar colors to Brittany, so that might be another one to gift.
Magdalene is an add-on, but it was just so stunning I had to have it! It’s a more teal color than India (one of my other favorites from Julep!), and really does remind me of an oasis. I wore it on my nails the first day I got this box and a client demanded to know where I got it from. I’d consider that a win. Steph is more of a very pale pink than a “coconut creme”. It’s a great choice for me, since I’m completely obsessed with pale pinks; I’d say 40% of all my polish colors are pinks. The iridescent shimmer helps make it different than the rest of my collection though.
It’s no secret that I love cremes, and these are both stunning colors. Wouldn’t they be perfect for a pool day? I’ve been wearing Alexa on my toes since I got the box and it’s held up very well. No chipping or peeling, no clumps or streaks with the application. Fingers crossed that Alyssa has a equally great formula!
I couldn’t be happier with the colors, and I do think Julep has been coming out with more unique colors and finishes lately. The value for being a Maven is definitely still there: I paid $52 for 10 bottles, making each one only $5.20 (compared to the $14.00 full price). I’m looking forward to next month and the possibility of more jellies and stardusts!
My box also came with a promo code for: use the code ALLYOURS to get $15.00 off your next $30+ purchase! Valid until August 31st, 2015. Not valid on Jule Box, Savvy Deals, Mystery Boxes, and Secret Store purchases.
