Finally got my Rachel Zoe Box of Style Fall box! Ever since the spoilers came out I’ve been obsessively checking my tracking information.
The Box of Style is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a box filled with fashion, beauty, and lifestyle items curated by Rachel Zoe! It’s a quarterly subscription, so it ships in March (Spring), July (Summer), September (Fall), and December (Winter). Every box promises $300+ value for only $100, or you can sign up for a whole year for $350.
Just like with the previous boxes, the packaging is beautiful. This is a box that can definitely be gifted as is (which I totally did already, and my friend loved it! She said it was actually better than my wrapping skills, but that’s not saying a whole lot). The overall presentation feels super luxe and well thought out. Even the tissue paper liner is custom printed for Rachel Zoe!
All the items are individually wrapped, which I always really enjoy. It’s so much fun to open everything individually! Feels a bit like an impromptu Christmas or something.
Again, like the previous boxes, the little information booklet is well done, thoughtful, and genuinely useful. There are styling tips, little anecdotes, and blurbs from Rachel Zoe about why she chose each item. The booklet also contains a bunch of promo codes, so if you’re interested in any of the brands that you received, check to see if there’s a promo code/coupon to use for your next purchase!
CLUSE La Bohème rose gold watch with Grey and Black Straps | $132.00
This is the hero item for this box, so the spoiler was released well ahead of time. I purchased a second box to gift to my friend because of this spoiler. I know she has wanted a rose gold watch for a long time and this simple timeless style was just perfect! For the unaware: Rachel Zoe Box of Style always releases the hero item (the most expensive item) as a spoiler ahead of time. Personally, I think this is how they keep their customers really happy. If you don’t like the highest value item, you can cancel your subscription to skip the box and resubscribe for the next one. It becomes less of a gamble, and since it’s a pricier box at $100 I think the peace of mind a spoiler offers is really important. And it doesn’t take away from the whole surprise aspect, since there’s always 4 or 5 more items that are still a surprise!
The watch also came with a lovely leather pouch for storage. Everything feels very well made and looks lovely. The leather case will be useful for when I’m traveling with this watch and want to keep it safe from scratches.
While the face of the watch is bigger than I normally go with, I really love the menswear inspired look. The watch is simple and modern, and the interchangeable straps make it a brilliantly versatile piece.
One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum | $39.00
I actually received this before in the POPSUGAR April 2015 box, and I really liked how it moisturized my skin and left behind a pleasant but not overpowering scent of gardenias. The recommended application is after showering on damp skin, which works well for me. It does feel a little bit sticky when you first spray it on, but once it dries/gets absorbed your skin will feel super soft. Don’t get turned off by that initial sticky feeling!
The Laundress Fabric Fresh Classic Spray | $8.00
While a fabric spray isn’t terribly exciting, it’s really useful and I love getting practical items in my boxes. The Laundress always makes wonderful products that I love, and this is no exception. The scent is really fresh and light, with hints of jasmine and citrus. This is the small travel sized spray (TSA friendly!), so I’m thinking of bringing it on trips with me to use between washes to really maximize my wardrobe.
Topshop Fedora | $48.00
I think this might be a custom item or color for the Rachel Zoe box, by TopShop. I can’t find this exact item online, but the price seems right compared to the other fedoras on the site. I’m not really a hat person, so this was the item that I was most apprehensive about…but it turns out I really like it! It’s great for Fall and I actually think it looks pretty cute on. I love it when I get an item in a subscription box that really pushes me to try something outside of my comfort zone. It’s a little bit too big for my head, but still totally wearable. Just have to be careful on windy days!
SHASHI Ear Climbers | $55.00
Super dainty and pretty! This is my first pair of ear climbers, and I’m a big fan. They are simple enough to substitute for studs for an everyday look, but can also be dressed up for a night out. The quality is really superb and I can definitely see these becoming a staple in my jewelry collection!
Look how pretty!
Sloane Stationery Custom Set of Notebooks (2) | $40.00
Another custom item for this box. I was surprised by the size of these notebooks, since I was picturing more of a pocket size. My iPhone 6 is shown for scale. Both notebooks are great quality and have lined pages inside. Rachel Zoe suggests using the “Shut it down” one for a to-do list, which I like the idea of. These are already on my desk at work, looking super chic!
Since I have an annual subscription, I paid $87.50 and received $322.00 worth of products. Amazing value just like the previous boxes! All the items are useful, interesting, and fit the Fall theme perfectly. I love that so many items are unique, since we so rarely see watches, hats, and ear climbers in boxes. I’m a bit surprised there’s no makeup item, but the body serum was a great substitute and perfect for the dry chilly weather around the corner (hopefully!).
I have to say, I knew I would like the box when I saw all the spoilers but I somehow like it even more with all the items in my hand. It really does have a well curated feel to it and feels very Fall. I’ve been so impressed with the Rachel Zoe Box of Style subscription! Can’t wait to see what she has in store for Winter.
And don’t forget: if you’re signing up for the Winter box, get $10 off when you’re invited by an existing member! Just use this link and you’ll automatically be prompted to enter your email for the $10 off!
