Wow, we’re halfway through September already! The temperature here in Texas hasn’t gone down yet, but receiving all these Fall subscription boxes is getting me more and more excited for sweater weather. Up for review today is my September POPSUGAR Must Have box.
Hudson + Bleecker Labyrinth Onyx Travel Trio | $45.00
Despite getting a lot of travel themed items from POPSUGAR this year, I think they’re still managing to send chic and practical things. This is a really useful set, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten shoe bags from any subscription yet. I can’t find this exact kit on their website, so I’m assuming it’s a custom set for subscribers. I love that they used their iconic labyrinth pattern! Super bold but classic. Hudson + Bleecker has some seriously cute packing essentials, I wish I could buy all my travel goodies from them!
The travel trio is composed of 1 zippered clear TSA approved case, 1 intimates/laundry bag, and 1 shoe bag. Since I’ve been using ziplock and grocery bags for my shoes, this is definitely an upgrade! All three bags feel very well made. Usually the clear zippered pouches I see in stores always feel flimsy, but this one is not your typical drugstore quality. The edges are sturdy and the stitching is well done.
Kris Nations XO Stud Earrings | $35.00
Oh my god this packaging!!! I adore this little glass bottle so much. I know some subscribers who mentioned not having pierced ears in their profile received a bracelet instead of these earrings, which I thought was a good decision on POPSUGAR’s part. I’ve never heard of this brand before, but now I just want to buy everything in their online shop. Everything is so cute and beautifully packaged!
The studs are cut from brass and plated in 14k gold. I’m a huge fan of dainty simple jewelry, so these are perfect earrings for me. I’ve been looking for more everyday studs and the asymmetrical look is one that I don’t have a lot of in my collection. Couldn’t be happier with this item!
Nourish Snacks Almonds to Cherries | $2.00
As much as my body appreciates the healthier snacks, I miss the older boxes that had unhealthy decadent snacks. I hope October’s box has something sweet to munch on! This package is pretty small, only a single serving! I do like the almonds and cherries combination, so I wish it were a bit bigger.
Too Faced Cosmetics Brow Envy Brow Shaping and Defining Kit | $39.00
This was the spoiler that was announced ahead of time, and it’s amazing! I always love Too Faced products and I had heard nothing but good things about this brow kit. I love how travel friendly it is, since you have all the colors you need (which can totally double for eyeshadow too!) plus all the tools in a nice little package. I hate having to dig through my dopp bag to find my tweezers or forgetting to bring brushes. I can be really disorganized when I travel, so hopefully this will help cut down on things I have to think about.
In typical Too Faced fashion, everything is high quality and the tools are sturdy and well made. The darkest brow color was a good match for me and the setting wax was really easy to use and kept me looking polished all day and night.
Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray | $20.00
I’ve been seeing a lot of Briogeo lately, and I think Sephora is now carrying some of their products. It’s always nice to see more paraban-free products in bigger stores. My hair felt softer and was easy to style after using this, and I like that it helps protect my hair from UV damage. Just don’t go overboard with this stuff! When I first tried it I used too much and my hair had a greasy/sticky texture that was hard to comb through. Then I tried again with less product and it feels weightless. It’s so funny how big of a difference that can make. A little goes a long way!
NCLA So Rich Vitamin-E Enriched Cuticle Oil | $18.00
My cuticles desperately needed this oil, so I’m glad it was included. This bottle will last a long time, since just a few drops are enough for both hands. I don’t get very much cuticle oil in my boxes and I think it’s great that POPSUGAR is branching out a little more. The oil is slightly perfumed and smells fantastic. It absorbs relatively quickly and makes my cuticles very soft and hydrated.
The overall value for this month is $159.00, pretty standard for POPSUGAR Must Have boxes. I have to say this is one of my favorite boxes that I’ve gotten from POPSUGAR in a while. Everything is practical and useful, and the brands that are featured are all brands that I would purchase more from in the future. The earrings are just perfection, the brow kit and cuticle oil are exactly what I needed (and was probably going to buy at Sephora anyways!), and the travel bags will definitely come in handy on my next trip. Fingers crossed for an equally (if not more!) amazing October box!
