FabFitFun Spring 2017 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Whew, finally I get to review my Spring FabFitFun box! Since I’m not an annual subscriber and didn’t purchase any add-ons, I’m at the very end of the shipping schedule. I think annual subscribers got their boxes several weeks ago! But it was absolutely worth the wait. This might be my favorite box from FFF yet!

FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box that sends out beauty, wellness, fashion, and fitness products for $49.99 a box. If you choose to purchase a whole year (4 boxes), the price goes down to $44.99 a box. They promise at least a $200 value in each box, though they sometimes exceed that by quite a bit. If you’re looking for a box that delivers an amazingly great value each time, this is the one!

Get $10 off (bringing the price down to only $39.99) by using this link. For $39.99, that’s a total steal! That makes it the same price as POPSUGAR Must Have, except the value here is somehow almost double your average POPSUGAR box!

IMG_0753

Look at how beautiful the box design is! I have been really impressed with the last few box designs. I also love that they have a little blurb about the featured box artist every season! This box was created by Cat Coquillette, an independent illustrator.

IMG_0754

Look at all the pretty goodies! Since I got my box so late I already knew what the box would contain. I just can’t help myself when it comes to spoilers!

IMG_0755

I always like to mention how much I enjoy the little insert that comes with each box. It’s always thoughtfully written and interesting to read. It has lots of little tips and tricks for how to use the items, along with interesting interviews and articles. Oh and you know what is super awesome about this box? It focuses on female founded brands! 7 of the 8 items are from brands founded by women, which I think is fantastic.

IMG_0771

Gypsy 05 Roundie | $50.00
This was an item that came with variations, and if you were an annual subscriber you were able to choose your pattern beforehand. Since I subscribe quarterly, I received a random pattern. But since I thought all 3 options were really cute (it was between this blue tie die one, a pastel colored geometric one, and a yellow paisley), I didn’t mind at all. I’m very pleased with the tie die pattern! Initially I was planning to keep this for myself, but one of my best friends just moved into a new apartment and I thought this was be a really cute gift for her!

IMG_0760

Since I gifted mine, I wasn’t able to get a picture of the roundie in all its splendor. I’m adding this lovely photo from My Subscription Addiction below. Cute, right? So perfect for spring and summer!

Emerald Duv Joshua Tree Cage Bracelet | $80.00
I’m really happy that this was a choice given to all subscribers! You could either choose this bracelet or earrings from LUV AJ. I haven’t been very impressed with LUV AJ in the past so I went with the bracelet and I’m so glad I did. It’s beautiful and fits me perfectly.

IMG_0761

The simple design is exactly my style and the construction is solid. It looks striking on my vanity and I have already received compliments on it! I wish I had bought another spring box just so I could have another one of these cuffs.

IMG_0762

I have been finding excuses to wear this! It’s a piece that is easy to dress up or down, and goes with pretty much everything I own. I can also layer it with bangles for a bold look. I love how versatile it is and I just know it’s going to be a staple for me.

IMG_0764

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator | $79.00
FabFitFun has really upped their game with the beauty brands! Dr. Brandt is such a wonderful brand with great products, and this is one of their bestselling items! It’s a cult favorite that I’ve bought from Sephora before. It’s a really fine grain exfoliator that leaves your face feeling smooth and polished. I am so excited to have a full sized version of this! A little goes a long way so this large size will last a while.

IMG_0756

Karuna Hydrating+ Face Masks | $28.00
Another amazing beauty item! This is yet another product that I’ve purchased before from Sephora and love. The scent is really subtle and my face feels amazing after I use it. It really packs a punch for skin hydration! I usually keep the mask on for about 25 minutes to give the serum a good long time to sink in.

IMG_0758

The pack comes with 4 individual masks. I really want to buy another pack and host a girls spa night! Or maybe I’ll just hoard all these masks for myself…

IMG_0759

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray | $20.00
I have been seeing Briogeo products everywhere lately! I have so many hair products that I have been trying to avoid opening any more, but I am really excited to try this one. It has so many glowing reviews! And I know the brand is very gentle on hair and lots of people swear by it. Very pleased to have this on hand so I can try it!

IMG_0757

RealHer Lip Kit in Deep Red | $48.00
This is another item that annual subscribers were allowed to choose (between the options of Deep Red, Deep Nude, and Neutral Pink), but quarterly subscribers were given one at random. I wish I had gotten the nude, since I usually can’t pull off such a dark red. I’ll be passing this one along to a friend.

IMG_0770

The package is sealed with plastic and I didn’t want to open it, but again I’m borrowing a photo from Liz over at My Subscription Addiction. The kit comes with a liquid lipstick, plumping lip gloss, and a lip liner.

FabFitFun Spring 2017 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Milly Zip Pouch | $45.00
Surprisingly this is one of my favorite items in this box! It’s a swimsuit bag that is really great quality and has a cute saying on the front. There were 4 variations of this item, but nobody was allowed to choose and everyone was given one at random. The options were: Resting Beach Face (green), Slay All Day (white), Beach Please (blue), and Haute Mess (pink). I was so happy to get my preferred variation!

IMG_0766

The bag is very generously sized, and can also work as a cute clutch for going to the beach. The interior is lined with a waterproof material, so if you put a wet swimsuit inside it will contain that moisture. Super useful so you don’t get all your other stuff wet!

IMG_0767

Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish Set | $19.00
Yet another variation item! They really had lots of variations for this box! Subscribers either received this mini set with Shape Of My Heart (pink) and Like A Virgin (white) or a set with Blue Orchid (blue) and Like A Virgin (white). I’m happy to get the pink. Deborah Lippmann products are usually a splurge for me, so it’s a treat to get their products from a subscription box. As an added bonus, a portion of the proceeds from this set supports MORE THAN ME Foundation, an organization that empowers girls in Liberia.

IMG_0765

The box also included a sponsored extra, which in this case is a mini bottle of Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin, & Nails Gummies. I usually buy these in the large bottles from Costco, and take them daily. I think it’s great that I get a travel sized version now! Personally I think the flavor is yummy — they taste just like strawberry fruit snacks.

IMG_0768

Wow, what a box! It’s my absolute favorite from FabFitFun so far! The value is ridiculously good, as usual. This box comes to a whopping $369.00, which isn’t even counting the bonus vitamins. All the items are exactly what I envision for spring and make me excited for the warm weather.

If you’re interested in getting FabFitFun boxes, get $10 off (bringing the price down to only $39.99) by using this link. For $39.99, that’s a total steal! I promise you that you will not regret it. I am consistently amazed that they are able to pull a box with such high value together and charge such a low rate. I’m so sad that I have to wait until June for my next box!

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

It feels like it’s been forever since my last FabFitFun VIP box! Or maybe it just feels like that because summer in Houston goes on forever and ever. So ready for sweater weather and pumpkin spice everything!

If you like what you see, the Fall box is still currently available for purchase. Get $10 off (bringing the price down to only $39.99) by using this link. For $39.99, that’s a total steal! That makes it the same price as POPSUGAR Must Have, except the value here is somehow almost double your average POPSUGAR box!

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Completely adore the fun box design they shipped out! It’s covered in fall-themed illustrations ready to be colored in. I wish more subscription companies sent interactive boxes like this!

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Every time I get a FFF box I look forward to the little booklet that comes with it. I always read it all the way through and find little bits of interesting information. Like this time I learned about a bunch of great companies (with products featured in this box!) that were founded by women. Love it! It included a cute little interview with each founder which was informative and fun to read.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Modcloth Loch and Key Scarf | $34.99
Subscribers received one out of four color options: green/blue, red/tan, black/white, and black/tan. The green and blue option was my second choice (after red and tan) so I’m pretty pleased. If you are an annual subscriber, you were allowed to choose your color. Anyways, I love that we got a Modcloth item in the box! I am a huge fan of Modcloth and have been shopping there for years. They have the cutest stuff!

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

It’s hard to depict in a photograph how soft this scarf is, but I hope this picture of the texture helps a little. It is seriously so incredibly soft! And it’s also a huge scarf. It could absolutely work as a small throw. I can’t wait to wear this on my next flight. I always get cold on planes and in airports so a big soft scarf is my absolute must have.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

The Created Co. To-Go Coffee Mug | $19.00
Digging the hand lettering on this travel mug! Subscribers either received this design or one that says “Joy Comes In The Morning”. I preferred this one, so very glad I received it. I’ve had such great luck with getting my preferred options with FabFitFun boxes so far. This travel mug is a good size–a full 16 ounces. My little KeepCup that I use daily for coffee is only 12 ounces, so this is a better option for drinks that I drink more of, like teas and lattes.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

The BrowGal Eyebrow Gel | $20.00
My current holy grail for eyebrows is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel, but I’ve been running low and am interested in trying something new. It looks like this gets good reviews, so I have high hopes. I have only tried it on once since I got my box on Monday so I can’t really testify about how effective or long lasting it is. What I can say is that it was easy to work with and dried quickly, and I didn’t notice any flaking (though I only had it on for about 5 hours). No noticeable smell either, which is always a must for products in the eye area for me.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Skin Laundry Restoring Night Serum | $50.00
I was so excited to see this in my box! I’ve seen this brand at Anthropologie and have considered buying it on numerous occasions, but didn’t want to bite the bullet without reading reviews. I haven’t found that many reliable reviews for this particular serum, but I’m hoping it will be good for travel. They recommend using this on flights to arrive feeling refreshed and hydrated. I’ll be trying it on my next flight! In the meantime, I’ll add it to my night time routine. I’m a little disappointed that this appears to be inferior packaging just for this box, because the printing is already rubbing off. I wish they had just sent the actual product in the regular packaging.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Toesox Toeless Fitness Socks | $15.00
Woohoo, a fitness item that I know I will definitely use! Lots of women in my yoga/pilates class wear grippy socks and I tried my first pair last year. Since then, I’ve been meaning to buy a few more pairs and wanted to try the toeless option as well. My favorite thing about subscription boxes is getting to try items that I was going to buy already, but at a fraction of the cost! These socks came in a variety of colors, but I’m completely ambivalent about fitness socks so I am happy with any color.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Very grippy soles of the socks! These are machine washable, but you do have to turn them inside out. Fits size 5-10. I am a size 7 and they were perfect for me. The little FabFitFun magazine suggests wearing these during pedicures in the cold weather to keep your feet warm. Love that idea! It’s definitely not cold enough here to warrant socks yet, but maybe in the winter I’ll try it.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Mullein & Sparrow Mini French Lavender Body Oil | $18.00
If you love lavender, you need this body oil. The fragrance is so strong I could smell it as soon as I opened my box! A little goes a long way, so even though this is the mini bottle I anticipate it lasting a long time. I dislike my body oils to be this heavily perfumed, but I love the idea of using this for aromatherapy. The magazine recommends adding a few drops to your bath. The simple ingredients list really appeals to me: it’s just organic sunflower oil, organic lavender essential oil, and tocopherol (vitamin e).

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

FabFitFun Coloring Book & Colored Pencils | $14.00
There were two different coloring book options for this fall box: nature and things. I am overjoyed that I received the nature book! It’s filled with plenty of illustrations of flowers and foliage that I can’t wait to fill in. Unfortunately the colored pencils are horrible, but I already have a set that I like to use.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Such pretty illustrations!

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Pure Cosmetics Nude Collection Eyeshadow Palette | $50.00
When I first saw the spoilers for this palette I wasn’t that excited, since I already own all 3 of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. But now that October is right around the corner, I’m thinking it’s time to start hoarding for Christmas gifts! My boyfriend’s cousin is just starting to experiment with makeup and I’m sure she would love this. The packaging is lovely and is perfect for gifting.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

What I dislike about this palette is how overpriced I think it is. This is almost an exact duplicate of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, which is only $4 more. (And completely amazing, by the way. I would highly recommend it!) If I hadn’t received this palette in a box, I would never purchase it. The original Urban Decay one is a much better deal because you know you’re getting phenomenal quality!

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Spongelle Bulgarian Rose Body Wash Infused Buffer | $16.00
This is my third Spongelle and I love them! They are the perfect solution for travel. The sponge/buffer is infused with body wash and can be used at least 14 times. If you hate traveling with little bottles of body wash that leak and spill, consider trying these. I am happy to see they made this scent an exclusive for FabFitFun subscribers, but also wish they would sell it in their regular lineup–I love the scent! I love all rose scents and this one is sweet and romantic without being cloying.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths | $2.99
This is a sponsored item, meaning it doesn’t count towards the value of the box. It seems that FabFitFun has stopped doing gift cards and are leaning more towards these sponsored items. Even though Cottonelle wipes aren’t terribly exciting, they’re useful and good to have around the house.

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Secret Outlast Xtend Clear Gel | $2.99
Another sponsored item, though it’s just a sample. I remember using Secret deodorant in middle school, so this totally takes me back. I used to pick based on how pretty the label was and how appealing the scents sounded, haha. But after a year or so I switched brands because I disliked how sticky the gel formula felt. Good news: they’ve changed! Big time! This dries very quickly and stays dry. No more sticky damp feeling and holding your arms up waiting for the gel to dry!

FabFitFun Fall 2016 Subscription Review plus $10 Off!

Wow, what a box! The total value is $239.99! Every time I get one of these boxes I ask myself “how do they do it??”. The value is so amazing and the curation is superb. This truly felt like a fall box, and it makes me excited for the upcoming cool weather. (Though to be honest, I was already so excited with or without a box.) I got lots of items that I am already using, and also was able to get a lot of gifts out of this box. I’m considering buying a second box for more gifts!

Again, if you want the Fall box it’s still available! Get $10 off (bringing the price down to only $39.99) by using this link. Seriously, only $39.99 for all these goodies! Treat yo’self!

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Today I’ll be reviewing an adult subscription box! So this is a bit of a departure than the other boxes I’ve reviewed in the past, but how could I resist? I’ve heard great things about Unbound before and was curious to see what sorts of items would be included. Besides, since I’ve already reviewed period boxes in the past, I figure my readers aren’t going to be too upset about any TMI that may happen. 🙂 If adult themed boxes are not for you and you wish to stop reading, this is your cue!

———————

Unbound Box is a quarterly adult subscription box. They aim to deliver high quality erotic goods, with each box revolving around a specific theme. For May, it was “Delta”. Themes in the past have included “Power Play”, “Gold Rush”, and more. Each box is $65, including shipping. Boxes ship the first week of February, May, August, and November. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time, and free returns are also offered for all items in each box.

This box ships in a discreet white box, with a return address to “Queen City Boxes”. I live in an apartment complex that sometimes will hold my packages at the leasing office for me, so the discreet box is pretty important. I would be mortified if the property manager had to hand me a box labeled “SEX TOYS” or something, haha!

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Packaging is definitely lovely. Custom printed satin ribbon, and everything is wrapped in a layer of tissue paper. If you’re searching for a bachelorette gift, this would be a great subscription! A friend of mine is having her bachelorette party in August; I’m hoping the next box will be out and available for purchase by then.

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Even from the first look you can tell that everything is more tasteful compared to your typical adult store selection. If you’ve ever stepped foot in one of those stores, you probably know what I’m talking about. The packaging is always so gaudy and tacky!

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Jimmyjane Intro 2 | $59.00
The big ticket item in this box! My first thought looking at this packaging is that it resembles a tech gadget more than a sex toy! Unboxing this vibrator felt like unboxing a new phone or something. Everything about it is really sleek and definitely feels high end.

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

One thing I really appreciate is that it runs on AAA batteries (included), a size that is easy to find and cheap to purchase. I think these days most sex toys run on either AA, AAA, or are rechargeable, because the manufacturers realized that people didn’t like buying specialty batteries! But my very first vibrator needed A23 batteries, and they were much more expensive than AA or AAAs and tricky to find at the time, before Amazon Prime and the convenience of free shipping.

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

It’s covered with a very soft silicone that is phthalate-free. The two ears are semi-flexible, and there is a motor in each one. The dual motor makes this pretty powerful, though it does have 3 different intensity levels and also 3 different patterns so you can choose what works best for you. The entire thing is waterproof, so you can bring this into the shower and it’s also very easy to clean. Another bonus is the 1 year limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship. Jimmyjane sells some pretty high end ($100+) vibrators

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

The button on the bottom controls what speed/power you want the vibration to be, and is also the power button. One downside I noticed is that it’s easy to turn on by accident. I tried to put it back in the box and the plastic holder pushed the button and turned the vibrator on. If you’re planning to travel with this, I would definitely take the batteries out!

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Bijoux Indiscrets Silver Mimi Pasties | $11.00
Even these pasties come in really lovely packaging! The rhinestones look high quality and based on online reviews these pasties are well made. I like that they are flat enough to go undetected under clothing, so if you’re saving it for a surprise or just want to wear it for fun, nobody needs to know. Even though these pasties are single use, the company suggests using eyelash adhesive if you want to reuse them. Since they’re so pretty and well constructed, I think that’s a good suggestion.

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Exsens Fresh Ginger Litchi Cooling Stimulation Gel | $16.00
This is an arousal gel that delivers “an intense cooling sensation”. The bottle is only 0.53 fl oz, but a little goes a long way. The formula is clear (yay for unstained sheets!) and doesn’t contain parabens, preservatives, or petroleum based ingredients. The scent is definitely a very floral lychee fragrance, which I love because I adore lychee scented anything. The gel is also flavored to taste like lychee, though it has a bit of a medicinal quality to it.

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Unbound Body Chain | $36.00
The picture on the left is mine, and the one on the right is from Unbound’s website. I kind of laughed when I pulled my body chain out of the little bag it came in, since as you can see in the photo I was pretty clueless about how it was meant to be worn/displayed. It was actually packed well and didn’t arrive tangled or anything, but since I’m unfamiliar with body chains I was pretty lost. Luckily after going online and seeing the picture, it was simple to figure out. The chain is available in two sizes and comes in either gold or silver. I received the regular fit in silver, and it fit me without a problem. For reference, I’m a size 4 in dresses and approximately 27″ waist size. The regular can fit up to 32″ waist and the curve can fit up to 36″ waist. I like how delicate it is when worn and think it could work as a jewelry item for summer. Body chains are really popular right now! I always see them at stores like Free People, so this definitely feels on trend.

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Unbound Drawstring Muslin Bag | $8.00
I like that this bag was included as a way to store all the items. It can easily fit all of the contents from this box with plenty of room to spare. I also enjoy the quote: “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful” by Mae West.

Unbound Box May 2016 Delta Box Review

Overall I thought it was a great box! The value is excellent, totaling $130. That’s exactly double the cost of the box. The curation is outstanding and incredibly thoughtful. Each item was high quality and useful; nothing felt like a filler. Nothing felt cheap and I didn’t feel apprehensive about trying it all. Unbound Box definitely felt like a very classy approach to a somewhat taboo (though it really shouldn’t be) subject matter.

I think the main benefit of this box that really stands out to me is the convenience and accessibility. I recently went shopping with some friends for another friend’s upcoming bachelorette party, and we had a less than pleasant experience with local shops. With the exception of one small boutique shop (which was quite pricey with a very limited selection), all the adult stores we found were in pretty sketchy areas. The stores felt really dated because of the tacky decor/dingy lighting, and gave off an unpleasant overall feel. The range of items can be quite overwhelming, and it’s hard to choose anything without going online to read more detailed reviews. Some of the packaging is shockingly useless. We found a vibrator that literally only said “Personal Massager. Made in China” on the packaging. If you don’t have something very specific in mind, it can be intimidating to say the least!  So I definitely know first hand how difficult it can be to shop for sex toys and other adult items in a physical store. Buying online is a wonderful resource and getting a small curated selection like this sent straight to your home is a great way to discover new products and explore without being overwhelmed.

Another great plus about this box is that the products chosen aren’t exclusively geared towards heterosexual couples. You can enjoy all the items irregardless of partner status and sexual orientation. If you dislike an item, Unbound offers free returns and I’ve heard nothing but great things about the customer service.

I can’t wait to see what the next box will bring! It feels like with each passing year the number of wedding invitations I receive increases exponentially, so I anticipate plenty of bachelorette parties on the horizon. Feeling quite relieved that I have a trusty (and sexy!) gift option!

Rachel Zoe Box of Style Summer 2016 Sneak Peek Plus $10 Off Code!

Woohoo!! We have the hero item spoiler for the Rachel Zoe Box of Style Summer 2016 box! I can’t believe it won’t be here for at least another 3 months. Sometimes I wish this box could be monthly, though my bank account would be so sad if it were.

Each box will include:
An exclusive jewelry set from LA It brand Luv AJ ($190.00 Value).

Rachel Zoe Box of Style Summer 2016 Sneak Peek Spoiler $10 Off Code!

From Rachel Zoe’s email:
“This perfect pair—valued at $190—includes an eye-catching lariat necklace with delicate pave Swarovski crystals and adjustable open crescent ring, which look incredibly chic worn together or alone.”

What do you think? Lariat necklaces are so in right now and I don’t have one that is really well made. I think this would be very cute with swimwear/beachwear or at a music festival! I actually like the ring more than the necklace, since it’s more versatile and can be worn with a variety of different outfits. Maybe I can gift the lariat necklace to my friend (who LOVES music festivals) and keep the ring for myself. Sort of a more stylish spin to the traditional friendship bracelet?

Anyways, enough of my ramblings. I’d love to know what your thoughts are! Is anyone else simply dying to know what the remaining 4-5 items will be?!

I think I must be one of the lucky few who got their boxes shipped very quickly! I personally wasn’t even expecting my box to get here so early. It was a complete surprise to find this on my doorstep yesterday. Naturally I couldn’t wait to tear into it and snap a ton of pictures, so here goes!

The Rachel Zoe Box of Style is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a box filled with fashion, beauty, and lifestyle items curated by Rachel Zoe! It’s a quarterly subscription, so it ships in March (Spring), July (Summer), September (Fall), and December (Winter). Every box promises $300+ value for only $100, or you can sign up for a whole year for $350. One thing I really like about this subscription is that it contains a “hero item” for each box that you know about beforehand. It’s the highest value item in the box and it’s generally announced well in advance, giving you plenty of time to decide if you want to purchase the box or not. I think it’s a smart way to ensure your customers are satisfied, because the hero item is always worth more than the cost of the box itself. It’s much easier to justify spending $100 when you know you’ll be getting at least one high value item that you actually want.

The packaging is so luxe and the outer storage box is sturdy. It ships in a cardboard box so the black box arrives pristine. I like to reuse these boxes for storing my craft supplies and other random knick knacks.

Rachel Zoe Box of Style Spring 2016 Review Plus $10 Off Code!

The little booklet is always surprisingly informative and thoughtful. For each box I read the entire thing and discover some new tips and ideas. There’s also promo codes for each featured brand at the bottom of each page. I’m very tempted to use the 30% off at Jules Smith! (code ZOEJULES30, valid through April 1, 2016.)

Shaffer LA Leather Bucket Bag | $150.00
This is the “hero item” of the box. Even though bucket bags are not something I would buy for myself, if Rachel Zoe says it’s fashionable, who am I to argue?! I was also drawn to the small size, since I love to use small crossbody bags on my day to day errands. Now that I have it in my hands, I think it’s a really great size. It’s small like I had hoped for, but still roomy enough to comfortably hold my iPhone 6, my card holder, keys, and some makeup. The bag is super lightweight because it doesn’t have any hardware on it, and the leather is buttery and soft.

Rachel Zoe Box of Style Spring 2016 Review Plus $10 Off Code!

The interior is unlined, unlike the Greta bag on Shaffer LA’s website. Since this is an exclusive design for Box of Style, I can understand why. The retail value on this bag is also lower than the regular Greta bag. The crossbody strap has finished edges, even though the top of the bag is unfinished. I appreciate that detail, because nobody likes dealing with leather fibers on their clothes!

A few downsides to the bag: there’s no zipper or button to keep the bag closed, you just tie the cords to cinch it shut. The crossbody strap is not adjustable, so if you’re on the taller side or shorter side, this could be an issue. I personally didn’t have a real problem with either aspect of this bag. The bag is small enough that I won’t be carrying any items that could easily fall out. I tested it with some lipstick and lip balm (the smallest things I think I would carry) and tossed the bag around and nothing fell out. My boyfriend did think I had gone slightly crazy though, watching me wildly swing this bag around. In the end I’m happy to have this. The quality is definitely there and I foresee this bag becoming a staple of mine for casual days when I want to travel light.

LSTN Sound Co. Wembley Earbuds | $100.00
This is my third pair of LSTN earbuds. I also own their headphones, which I adore. I know a lot of people were displeased about getting more earbuds, since a lot of subscriptions have been sending our earbuds lately. But I have to say, LSTN has amazing sound quality and it’s for a great cause. In under 3 years, LSTN has provided hearing aids to over 20,000 people! I find it a little hard to complain about a product that is high quality, stylish, sustainably produced, and supports a good cause. (Sidenote: if you haven’t already, you should watch Youtube videos of people hearing for the first time. Children hearing their parents for the first time, parents hearing their children for the first time, people hearing music for the first time; it’s all pretty amazing. I totally cry every time I watch one.)

The earbuds come with three cushion sizes for your ears. I think this is really important, since it makes a huge difference in comfort. The smallest size works best for me, and the largest size works best for my boyfriend. I think I must have oddly shaped ears or small ears or something, because a lot of hard plastic earbuds hurt after a few minutes of use. With these, I never have a problem. There’s also a volume control and microphone on the cord, making it perfect for phone calls. I use LSTN headphones when I’m Skyping with my friends and it has made a world of difference in sound quality.

How gorgeous is this color combination? I’m really loving the bamboo wood! I also want to mention that LSTN has wonderful customer service. The first pair that I ever received from Quarterly stopped working after a few months of use, and when I wrote to their customer service about the problem, they sent me a brand new pair! They didn’t even care that I had received it through a subscription box, they stood behind their product 100%. Just thought I would share that tidbit, since I was thoroughly impressed.

Jouer Creme Eyeshadow Crayon | $24.00
Subscribers will receive 1 out of 8 possible colors, so it’s luck of the draw for this item. They’re all waterproof and paraben free, and people seem to give it good reviews online for staying power and ease of application.

I’m a little sad about getting this color, since it’s not something that I can pull off. I was really hoping for a more neutral shade. There were only three colors I didn’t want to receive and this is one of them. I would have preferred for Rachel to have picked out her favorite color and included it, so everyone would get the same color. I also think she would have chosen a very wearable color that worked for different skin tones, like a champagne or bronze. Oh well, into the gift pile it goes!

Jules Smith Pave Bar and Stone Cuff | $45.00
Love this delicate cuff! Subscribers will receive this cuff in either gold or silver, and I got the silver one. I’m okay with either metal finish, since I think gold looks better on me but I so rarely get anything silver from subscription boxes that this is a breath of fresh air. I think the turquoise also looks really amazing with the silver. Even though this is a delicate piece of jewelry, it feels well made and sturdy. I’m glad to have discovered this brand, she has tons of cute designs on the site!

I found the sizing to be just right. It wasn’t too snug but it felt secure on my wrist. I’m loving how it looks on! I’ve been wearing it all day today and already got a compliment from a stranger.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk | $20.00
Like every subscription box junkie, I have tons of dry shampoo. This isn’t a terribly exciting product to receive, but at least it’s a quality product. Klorane is a tried and true dry shampoo and one of my favorites. Allure Magazine has voted it “Best Dry Shampoo”, so you know it’s a beloved beauty staple.

Hollywood Fashion Secrets Oil Blotting Tissues | $5.00
Each box thus far has contained some sort of styling tool, so a very practical item like this is expected. Living in Houston, I can tell you with absolute certainty that these will get used. I didn’t know of this brand before, but it’s a good deal! For $5 you get 100 sheets, and the sheets are made in Japan. I’ve been paying a lot more for a similar product, and I’m sure this one will be just as effective.

La Mer The Concentrate | $44.00
The sample is super tiny (quarter shown for scale!), but since La Mer is ridiculously pricey, this sample size is valued at $44. Crazy, right? One of my friends swears by La Mer and she has a tip for stretching this tiny bottle for as long as you can. She applies a very thin layer of face moisturizer to her fingertip before applying this serum, so her fingers won’t absorb any of the serum. I don’t know if I even want to love this, because the last thing I need right now is to fall in love with a $440 bottle of La Mer!

I really liked this box and appreciate the functionality of it. The total value comes out to $344.00 without the La Mer extra, and $388.00 with the La Mer. The two highest value items are both very useful and will probably become part of my regular routine. The bracelet is gorgeous and I’m very excited to wear it with my outfits. Even the dry shampoo and blotting papers are good essentials to have around. The only thing I won’t use is the eyeshadow, but I’ll be able to gift it to a friend who is more adventurous with her makeup.

I always feels like it’s a great value and I get my money’s worth with this subscription. The curation always feels thoughtful and I understand why each item is in the box. This box did a good job of representing spring to me: earbuds for working out, a lightweight bag perfect for festivals, eyeshadow stick for on-the-go beauty, dry shampoo for new hairstyles, blotting papers for the warmer weather, and a delicate bracelet to pair with your spring wardrobe. But enough about my opinions, I’d love to hear what you thought about this box!
